Has anything happened with Saya over the past few days? Anyone die, anyone disappear, anything absolutely devastating? [Because he's So Close to finally actually telling her, but Things Kept Happening.]

-It being about Saya might be more strenuous in a way.

Not over the past few days. Nothing more recent than Venti's disappearance, I would say, and I believe she's recovered from that as much as can be expected.

[There is the living room and very comfortable couch and arm chairs.]

[Red Son will stay standing, because its easier if he can be moving and he can pace.]

I know she'll still be hurting, but there is only so long I can put this off. So I'm just trying to avoid the worst timing ever.

Without question. -To be clear, my priorities are with Saya's feelings to begin with.

[That is in fact the most complicated thing to happen that he can think of.]

A growing mountain of it.

The biggest thing is the properties of the gems. I studied a fragment of Riku's to help Saya's hibernation. I know how strong they are. And we know fragments can be requested.

But Saya can't get back Haji's. And with the way he died...the only way that seems like it could work was if his gem was dusted, but the order of events to make that happen are incredibly small. Not impossible, which is the real struggle I'm having. Because there is one avenue where his gem was dusted, its just highly unlikely.

[So have even More Complicated on top of THAT.]

So for Saya to not be able to get his gem, either that highly unlikely scenario happened....or he isn't a gem.

That... does make a great deal of sense.

[He doesn't know how to feel about it, but he knows that Saya will know even less how to feel about it.]

Tomorrow, unless someone literally dies.

Because it has been torture sitting on this because things kept happening.

I can't discount Saya will have a shoot the messenger reaction. [He thinks its Highly Likely because his self esteem is garbage.] Wukong has a very nuanced understanding of the kind of situation she's in, but also, I need to know someone definitely competent at comforting her is there and you seemed the best for that.

...She will probably be upset about how long it took to tell her, although I don't disagree with your reasons for delaying it.

[Telling her right away wouldn't have been better, but feelings don't always account for that.]

I will do everything I can to comfort her.

I also had a while going over the facts, trying to find a way I was wrong. By the time I was fairly certain I was right, MK and I had started dating.

[So that was when Saya didn't want to see his butt for a while.]

And then I had to debate telling her because while I was fairly certain, there is and will continue to be a chance I'm wrong. There's no way I can think of to guarantee it until I'm able to get a multidimensional travel spell to work and actually find him.

And if it turns out I'm wrong... [WELL]

[That will be an extremely bad day.]

So by the time I had made my final decision, Wukong had amnesia and then he died and Noodle Boy was a mess and this isn't a situation where my attention can be divided.

[If it turns out he's wrong, Saya will feel the pain of Haji dying over all over again, magnified by her hopes of seeing him once more.]

And somewhere during all that, Venti and the home he'd promised us disappeared as well. [Leaving her not in any state at all to hear news like this.]

Do you need anything? Tomorrow all my focus will be on supporting Saya, but until then, if there's anything I can do for you...
